This is a basic tutorial on using cheat engine games. I though I should make a basic tutorial before the advanced just if some people have never used cheat engine before, so feel free to skip the post if you already know how to use cheat engine.
Furthermore the tutorial has two requirements, one being cheat engine of course and in addition a game to hack. Before picking a game to hack please understand the not all games are hack with cheat engine and any game storing information externally, can not be hackable using memory editors. In Addition, many games use a double layered variables to prevent simple memory editing.
Cheat Engine Tutorial
Step 1: Getting a Memory Editor | First off, you’ll need a memory editor, in this tutorial I’ll be using cheat engine so I suggest downloading and installing the same. Cheat engine can be download for the URL: Cheat Engine Download.
Step 2: Preparing the Applications | Start the game your wish hack, I suggest hacking a flash game because they’re usually unprotected against memory editing hacks. After the game is loaded start up Cheat Engine and click the flashing icon in the top left. Then select application in the process list, if you are trying to hack a flash game the process name with change depending on the browser for example: Chrome.exe is for Chrome, Plugin-Container is for Firefox and FlashUtil-ActiveX is for IE.
Step 3: Identifying Memory Location | This is the most difficult step and requires the most time. To start off with pick a value you would like to modify for example, score. To locate the where the score is stored in memory type in the box on value the current value of the score in cheat engine then click first scan.Then increase you score on the game and go back to cheat engine and enter the new value of the score and click next search, repeat this until there is only a few memory locations found.
Step 4: Changing the Values | Once you have narrowed down the memory address to less than 9(Sometimes more are required) select all of them and click the red arrow in the lower corner. Then the addresses with appear in the bottom, again select all of the (Ctrl+A) and right click on them hover over change record then select value then just enter in the desired value. That is it now you game is hacked.
